Overview
Our client, a well-established eCommerce and online marketplace company headquartered in the Greater Cincinnati area, is seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of Human Resources to lead their people function.
They are looking for an HR leader who can balance strategic thinking with roll-up-your-sleeves execution—someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is comfortable working at both the strategic and tactical levels.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team on organizational design, workforce planning, talent strategy, culture, and change management tied to business transformation and process improvements
- Partner with leaders on succession planning, leadership development, and team effectiveness.
- Oversee all talent management functions including acquisition, onboarding, retention, performance management, succession planning, and leadership development—including hands-on recruiting when needed
- Drive employee engagement through culture initiatives, surveys, action planning, and strengthened internal communication across all areas of the business, championing company values and building relationships across teams
- Manage all HR operations including policies, employee relations, compensation (market pricing and plan design), benefits, payroll partnership, compliance with employment laws, vendor relationships, and HR systems evaluation and implementation
- Lead and develop the HR team while building scalable processes, and oversee learning and development initiatives across the organization
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of human resources experience with demonstrated progression into senior-level roles
- Track record of serving as a business partner to C-suite executives during periods of organizational growth or transformation
- Comprehensive understanding of federal and state employment regulations, contemporary HR practices, and workforce data analysis
- Demonstrated success implementing modern HR platforms and utilizing emerging technologies such as AI to streamline operations
- Superior interpersonal abilities with sound judgment and strong verbal and written communication capabilities
- Leadership philosophy centered on supporting others while maintaining accountability and driving results
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- Experience in eCommerce, marketplace, logistics, or consumer-focused businesses
- Background supporting multi-location or hybrid/remote workforces
- Experience with warehouse and hourly workforce
- Exposure to M&A, integrations, or rapid organizational change
- Embrace AI with some experience using it
Benefits
Base Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000 per year
Time Off:
- 15 days Paid Time Off (PTO)
- 9 company holidays
