CampusWorks is looking for Finance Consultants to assist our higher education clients in strengthening their financial operations. The consulting engagements may be remote or on-site and can include serving as an Interim CFO, leading a Business Process Review project, or optimizing the institution’s Finance ERP system. These roles can be full-time or contract consultant (1099) opportunities. Please specify your preference in the application.
CampusWorks consultants engage with our clients in higher education to assist them in fully leveraging their people, processes, policies, and technologies. We work collaboratively with clients’ functional and technical teams and our CampusWorks colleagues to evaluate current processes, design future-state optimal processes, and to architect, develop, test, train, and rollout process and technical solutions that delight our clients.
A hybrid presence may be required with frequent travel to client locations.
Responsibilities
Serving as Interim CFO or Finance Director and providing day-to-day leadership of the finance department staffConducting accounting, financial reporting, and financial analysis functions while overseeing the daily financial operations of the college or universityAdvising on the development of policies, programs, and procedures governing financial and accounting operations, and preparing financial statements, forecasts, and analysesProvide oversight, direction, guidance, and coordination of the current finance projects and prioritiesAssessing the efficiency of the finance departmentProviding finance consulting to higher education clients on a variety of finance topics/challengesAssisting clients in how to best align policy, process, procedures, and personnel to effectively leverage the Finance ERP solution
Requirements
Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and the full adoption of technology to enable organizational operations and efficiency5+ years’ experience in all aspects of of higher education finance is required5+ years’ experience as a CFO, Director of Finance, or Associate Director of Finance in higher education is requiredBachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required; CPA or MBA preferredExperience using any one of the higher education-specific ERP solutions within a college or university financial management setting including, but not limited to: GL/Chart of Accounts, Accrual Accounting, Budgeting, Purchasing, Contracts, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Grants Management, Fixed Assets, Student Payroll, Tax Reporting, Analytics & ReportingSolid leadership skills, including facilitating diverse groups, creating consensus building and preparing the organization and individuals for change and ongoing continuous improvementDemonstration of superior communication skills and the ability to provide a consultative approach to clients
