Are you a people-focused HR professional who thrives on building processes, improving culture, and driving development? We’re looking for a Director of Team Development to take full ownership of our HR function in a high-impact, standalone role. This position blends strategic planning with day-to-day execution, offering the opportunity to directly shape how our team grows, thrives, and succeeds. 

With 3–4 years of HR leadership experience, you’ll be responsible for everything from compliance and performance management to employee engagement and benefits—ensuring that our people-first values are reflected in every aspect of our work environment. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR and team development initiatives. You’ll provide guidance, create structure, and drive strategies that support both individual and organizational success. 
  • Oversee recruiting, onboarding, performance management, offboarding, and everything in between. Ensure all employee touchpoints are handled with consistency, care, and professionalism.  

 

 

  • Act as a trusted advisor for team members and managers. Provide policy guidance, mediate workplace issues, and support a fair and inclusive environment rooted in our organizational values. 
  • Maintain full compliance with employment laws and HR best practices, including EEOC, ACA, FMLA, and wage and hour regulations. Keep policies, documentation, and procedures audit-ready and up to date. 
  • Coordinate open enrollment, manage vendor and broker relationships, and support team members in understanding their benefits. Deliver accurate, timely information and a seamless benefits experience. 
  • Maintain employee data with precision and integrity. Leverage reports and analytics to guide workforce planning, track turnover, and support data-driven decisions. 
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance HR and team development processes. Apply problem-solving skills and improvement methodologies to strengthen the employee experience and operational efficiency. 
  • Champion internal communication, recognition programs, and engagement activities. Promote a culture of growth through development programs, performance cycles, and alignment around shared goals. 
  • Partner with leaders in Finance, Operations, and other areas to align people strategies with business needs. Offer proactive insights and serve as a problem-solver and sounding board. 
  • Work with Finance to confirm payroll inputs such as hours, benefits, and deductions. If experienced with payroll systems, help enhance accuracy and streamline payroll operations.  

Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3–4 years in a leadership or ownership capacity (solo or departmental) 
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance 
  • Experience managing the full HR lifecycle and implementing HR systems and processes 
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills 
  • Comfortable being both strategic and tactical in a standalone HR role 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 
  • SHRM-CP/SCP or equivalent certification preferred 
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies 

 

  • Experience in IT management or close collaboration with IT MSPs, including oversight of employee technology provisioning, software licensing, and coordination with external IT support teams.
