HTML Email Developer

We’re looking for an HTML Email Developer who can build clean, responsive, and cross-client compatible email templates that render consistently across Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, and mobile. This role is ideal for someone who understands the quirks of email HTML, enjoys problem-solving through code, and can turn static designs into polished, production-ready templates.

You’ll work on a flexible schedule and will be compensated on an hourly basis. If you take pride in precise coding, strong QA habits, and building modular templates that scale across campaigns, this role will fit you well.

What You’ll Work On

HTML Email Development

• Code responsive, table-based HTML email templates with inline CSS
• Convert Figma, PSD, or Sketch files into pixel-accurate email builds
• Create modular components for scalable, repeatable email production
• Ensure templates follow email accessibility and mobile-first best practices

Testing and QA

• Test templates across major email clients using tools like Litmus or Email on Acid
• Debug rendering issues in Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, or mobile clients
• Optimize code for load time, dark mode compatibility, and deliverability
• Validate that templates meet brand standards and match approved designs

Template Management and Iteration

• Maintain a library of reusable templates and design modules
• Update or revise existing templates based on feedback or campaign needs
• Work with stakeholders to ensure consistency across all email builds

Collaboration and Communication

• Coordinate with designers to confirm layout feasibility
• Work with marketing teams to support A/B tests or content variations
• Provide recommendations on design choices that impact email rendering

What You Bring

• 2 or more years of experience building HTML emails
• Deep understanding of table-based email structure and inline CSS
• Ability to produce responsive, cross-client compatible email templates
• Experience with testing tools like Litmus or Email on Acid
• Strong attention to detail and comfort managing your own QA process
• Reliable communication and ability to work independently during flexible hours

Nice to Have

• Experience with ESPs such as Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Braze, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud
• Familiarity with MJML or other email frameworks
• Light design skills for small visual adjustments
• Understanding of deliverability considerations and email performance metrics
