Overview

SOS International LLC is seeking a highly experienced Software Infrastructure Architect to join our Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) team. This role is critical in designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions that support mission-critical government programs. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in software architecture, cloud technologies, and compliance frameworks, with the ability to lead strategic initiatives and guide technical teams.

Essential Job Duties

Architectural Design:

  • Develop and maintain enterprise-level software infrastructure architecture aligned with OCTO’s strategic goals.
  • Define standards for system integration, scalability, and security across platforms.

Technology Leadership:

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance infrastructure performance and reliability.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.

Implementation & Governance:

  • Oversee infrastructure deployments, ensuring compliance with federal security standards and contractual requirements.
  • Establish best practices for DevSecOps, automation, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).

Collaboration:

  • Partner with program managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure infrastructure supports application needs and mission objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to OCTO leadership on infrastructure strategy and modernization efforts.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; OR equivalent experience.
  • Minimum ten years of experience in software engineering and infrastructure architecture.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong knowledge of networking, security protocols, and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST).
  • Proven experience with automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred qualifications

  • Current active, in-scope DoD Secret clearance.
  • A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Prior experience supporting government contracts or agencies.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and API management.
  • Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery planning.
