Outline of the Job

We are looking for an engineer to lead the design, development, and evaluation of inverters, a core component of the electric propulsion system for next-generation eVTOL. This role offers significant autonomy and opportunities to collaborate with suppliers and address project challenges proactively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and development of motor control systems, inverter circuits, and motor control circuit systems
  • Define and optimize design specifications to meet system requirements
  • Analyze test results and propose and implement improvements
  • Documentation for the development activities and drawing creation
  • Serve as the technical interface with suppliers and manage their progress
  • Support suppliers in resolving technical challenges
  • Collaborate across teams to address cross-functional issues
  • Develop test plans for ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) systems
  • Work closely with team leaders, members, and other departments to drive project progress

Essential Skills

  • Experience in designing and developing ESCs or inverters in mobility industry.
  • Experience in system engineering and communication system development
  • Experience in motor and inverter testing for high power and high voltage system
  • Experience in supplier management or coordination
  • Open conversation and documentation in English for technical discussion

Desirable Skills

  • Broad experience in motor control systems, inverter circuit design, and motor control circuit design
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or electrical circuit simulation, electromagnetic analysis tools
  • Comprehensive knowledge of motor control, power electronics
  • Experience in Type certification or deep knowledge in relative regulations or standards, especially for Aviations.
  • Familiarity with aviation standards such as RTCA DO-178, DO-254 and DO-160
  • Previous involvement in electric aircraft or eVTOL projects
  • Proficiency in English sufficient for professional communication.
  • Development experience within a global team

Type of Employment

  • Permanent Employee or Contract Employee
  • Probationary period: 3~6 month

Place of Employment

  • Nagoya Airport Office: Nagoya Airport Terminal Building 2nd floor, Toyoba, Toyoyama-Cho, Nishikasugai, Aichi Prefecture
    • Measures to Prevent Secondhand Smoke: Smoking Room Provided
  • Scope of Change: Places determined by the Company (including places where telework is performed)

Working Hours

  • Flextime or Discretionary labor system
    • In the case of flextime: No core time
    • Discretionary Labor System: Specialized Class Deemed working hours per day: 10 hours
  • Basic working hours: Start 9:00 End 18:00(Including 1hour break time)
    • Overtime Work: Available

Holidays

  • 115 days off per year(Saturday / Sundays / Newyear holidays(12/29~1/3) / Company designated holidays)
  • Annual paid leave
  • Refresh leave (Granted after 1, 3, 4, 5 years of service)

Salary

  • Estimated Annual Salary: JPY 6,850,000 - JPY 10,280,000
  • Additional overtime pay will be provided for hours exceeding the fixed overtime.
  • To be determined based on skills, experience, and abilities
