The IT Business Analyst will be responsible for supporting and evolving the Working Time Allocation System (WTAS) across the organization. This role bridges business and technology, ensuring that user requirements are well understood, the solution is developed and delivered effectively, and end users receive the necessary documentation, training, and ongoing support.
The analyst will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, developers, HR, finance, and IT teams to drive enhancements, ensure system reliability, and maximize user adoption.

Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements Gathering & Analysis

  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand processes, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
  • Translate business needs into User Requirements (URs), user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Assess the impact of new requirements on existing system logic and workflows.
  • Ensure requirements are clear, testable, aligned with business policies, and approved by relevant stakeholders.

2. Collaboration with Development & Testing Teams

  • Act as a liaison between business users and development teams (internal or external).
  • Provide clarifications on requirements and contribute to solution design discussions.
  • Review functional and technical specifications for accuracy.
  • Support developers during build cycles and participate in backlog refinement sessions.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), prepare test cases, track defects, and validate fixes.

3. Reporting & Data Analysis

  • Design and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytics related to working time allocation, compliance, and performance metrics.
  • Translate complex datasets into meaningful insights for HR, finance, and operational management.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal policies.

4. Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including:
    • Functional documentation
    • Process flows
    • Release notes
    • Configuration guides
  • Produce user manuals and quick reference guides tailored to different audiences.

5. Training & Change Management

  • Develop training materials (presentations, videos, user guides).
  • Conduct training sessions for end users, superusers, and support teams.
  • Assist with communication plans and adoption activities when new features or changes are introduced.

6. User Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for user questions and operational issues related to the WTA System.
  • Triage incidents and work with IT support or developers to resolve them.
  • Analyze recurring problems and propose long term solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance user experience.
     

Qualifications

Experience:
•    2-3 years of proven experience as an IT Business Analyst or similar role.

Education:
•    Degree in Computer Science, such as B.E./B.Tech. or MCA, or equivalent experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required

•    Strong understanding of time management, HR processes, or workforce planning systems.
•    Experience writing User Requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
•    Ability to read functional/technical documentation and translate it into business terms.
•    Strong skills in data analysis and reporting (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
•    Experience preparing and delivering user training.
•    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
•    Structured, detail oriented, and capable of managing multiple workstreams.
Preferred
•    Experience with Working Time Allocation or Time & Attendance systems.
•    Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
•    Experience with SQL queries or data extraction.
•    Knowledge of ITIL or similar incident/change management frameworks.
