IT Field Service Technician - Computer Systems
Connect2Geeks part of TalkNNore Communications Limited is currently seeking an experienced Computer and Network Field Service Technician to work out of our offices located in Cramlington, UK. Qualified candidates for this Job Opening should be capable of working in multiple environments (both physically on site with clients as well as remotely) under minimal supervision or direction.
Job Summary:
The Computer and Network Field Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing many different types of technology related issues while following safety guidelines and keeping detailed records of all duties performed. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide technical support and guidance to end users with computer software, hardware or system problems.
- Installs or assists service personnel in installation of hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on user's premises when needed.
- Answer questions and resolve problems via telephone, e-mail or in person from a computer or cell phone.
- Help manage end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations.
- Audit network logs and troubleshoot server / switch equipment logs.
- Maintains documentation of all Network systems utilization and deployments.
- Works with all IT Staff members in the development and use of standard operating procedures.
- Educate customers on the proper use of information technology resources.
- Work hours prescribed by the IT Manager and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned.
- Understand and comply with all of the principles established by Connect2Geeks.com and its clients including Code of Ethics, Security and HIPAA regulations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
- Serve as a role model for other staff, patients and customers.
- Demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Connect2Geeks.com.

Qualifications
In order to be considered for this position with our IT consulting firm you must meet or exceed these following minimum requirements:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in computer hardware, x86 architecture, desktop and server computer component and hardware knowledge (CPU, RAM, SAS/SATA HDD, RAID controllers, network and other PCI cards)
- Familiar with installing, configuring and using Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems and Corporate Domain environments utilizing Active Directory and DNS in a live environment.
- General understanding of computer virtualization and bare metal hypervisor environments.
- Experience in building and testing computer workstation and server systems.
- Familiar with server room layout, assembly, and cabling of racks.
- Basic understand of enterprise networking using firewalls, managed switches and multi-point wireless systems.
- Knowledge of Uninterrupted Power Supplies, KVM switches, and terminal servers.
- Familiar with and willing to learn Manufacturing PPE and industrial plant safety requirements.
- Be comfortable working at heights using equipment such as scissor lifts and ladders.
- Willing to work in tight spaces and run cable through attics or in other hard to reach areas.
- Strong ability to organize and manage multiple projects, setting priorities, and working independently under aggressive timelines.
- Must have the skill set to learn complex ERP/CRM software systems quickly and accurately, and keep detailed records including pertinent client and company data.
- Accurate and prompt data entry experience in a web-based e-commerce platform.

Must have a solid understanding of computer/IT products and concepts, and the ability to grasp overall architecture and details quickly
