SUMMARY OF ROLE AND OBJECTIVES:

  • Following ITIL methodology, and utilising the existing Eurofins Policies, the mission of the position ‘Principal Infrastructure Engineer’ is to:
  • Own, develop and regularly update the Eurofins Operating System image(s) and associated architecture;
  • Validate all created software packages against the working image deployment architecture(s);
  • Plan, validate and execute monthly security updates rollout globally;
  • Track global OS deployments and OS Patch deployments and prepare remediation actions.
  • Contribute to testing, planning and rollout of new patch deployment solutions.

ROLE & OBJECTIVES:

  • Creating, managing and maintaining OS images including client and server;
  • Certification of new hardware’s (Drivers management) in MDT & SCCM and updating Drivers on regular basis;
  • LTI/ZTI Image deployments via MDT, SCCM and troubleshooting infrastructure related issues;
  • Working with WDS related configurations and troubleshooting;
  • Investigate & troubleshooting driver related issues;
  • Distribution of various OS images globally and creating task sequence for custom deployments;
  • Building, capturing and updating windows 10 master images with latest releases and inline to Eurofins standards;
  • Core application updates on master images on regular intervals;
  • Reporting on overall health status of MDT/SCCM Deployment infrastructure;
  • WSM skillset is PowerShell/Python scripting skills, to help build scripts to optimise existing processes or build new ones;
  • Configuring WDS, configuring PXE, configuring the VM build environment, and integrating SCCM with MDT;
  • Creating Distribution Points and distributing the images accordingly via SCCM;
  • Creating a deployment Task Sequence and deploying the Task Sequence in an automated way;
  • Creating SCCM Packages for Operating System Deployments;
  • Deployment of Applications and Software Updates via SCCM:
  • Direct involvement in procurement projects (Workstations, Laptops, Mobile Devices), including lifecycle input for consideration in accordance with the Eurofins Technology Roadmap;
  • Analyse, prepare and update monthly security updates list released by Microsoft;
  • Assess patches released and prepare for global deployments following ITIL process and as per Eurofins requirements and standards;
  • Monitor patch deployment infrastructure (WSUS/SCCM SUGs) and remediate if any infrastructure issues;
  • Ensure patches are rolled out and reached to all machines globally;
  • Work on Active Directory Group polices for patch management;
  • Ensure all machines are under patch compliance and action accordingly;
  • Ensure all windows 11 machines are under support cycle as per OS life cycle policies;
  • Plan and upgrade windows 11 machines on continuous basis (Windows 11 Feature upgrades/Servicing Plans) to adhere support of security updates;
  • Global project management with regards to image and software updates deployment, consisting of approved design and piloting before rollout;
  • Deliver all services following ITIL methodology for updates deployment and Windows 10 feature upgrades;
  • Regular reporting of overall security updates compliance;
  • Creating work instructions;
  • Flexibility to Work on shifts as required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Comparable field or relevant work experience in Information Technology (min. 6 years)
  • IT Experience: 3 + years of IT industry experience.

 

General Technical Skills:

  • Minimum 6 years working in Information Technology with experience or specialization in:
  • Microsoft Operating system: Win 7, Win 11;
  • MDT 2013, WDS, OSD, WSUS, Intune, SCCM Current Branch
  • Desktop Application Support;
  • Microsoft Office.

 

Specific Technical Skills:

A deep understanding and contextual experience with:

  • Should have strong experience in Operating System deployments from MDT, SCCM tools.
  • Should have strong experience in patch management via WSUS & SCCM.
  • Experience in design and installation of OS Deployment infrastructure including WDS, MDT & SCCM.
  • In-depth knowledge of OS imaging deployment, SCCM client installation, Software update groups, software distribution, and other SCCM roles.
  • Strong on Troubleshooting and Analytical skills on OSD & Patch management.
  • Strong knowledge on deployment log files.
  • Knowledge of MDT Linked Deployment shares, Database integrations, Model alias configurations & defining software package roles in OS Deployments.
  • Should have good knowledge in Group Policies, Customization of Master images.
  • Implementation of Windows upgrades – Win 7 to Win 11 and Win 10 to Win 11.
  • Patch Management of Physical and Virtual environments through WSUS/SCCM
  • Good knowledge on reporting using SQL Queries.

    Must be able to work in CET hours (MY time 2pm–11pm)
