UK’s leading translation and interpretation company Translation Empire PK is looking for a Junior Android App Developer who will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining Android applications. The successful candidate will work closely with the development team to ensure that the applications meet the specified requirements and quality standards. The Junior Android App Developer will also be responsible for debugging and resolving issues in the application code, as well as contributing to the development of new features and functionality.

Responsibilities:

·       Participate in the design, development, testing, and deployment of Android applications

·       Debug and resolve issues in the application code, including performance and usability issues

·       Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of new features and functionality

·       Collaborate with the development team to ensure that applications meet the specified requirements and quality standards

·       Participate in the development and maintenance of the application documentation

·       Stay current with industry trends and developments in Android application development

Requirements

Requirements & Skills:

·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

·       1-2 years of experience in Android application development, with experience in Java or Kotlin programming languages

·       Familiarity with Android development frameworks and tools, including Android Studio, Gradle, and Git

·       Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns

·       Experience with third-party libraries and APIs

·       Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues in the application code

·       Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with development team members and stakeholders

·       Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

·       Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively and strategically to identify solutions to complex problems

Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Kotlin, Java, XML layouts and Jetpack Components (Navigation, LiveData, ViewModel, Room, etc.).
Familiarity with REST APIs, Retrofit, and JSON parsing.
Experience integrating third-party SDKs or APIs.
Exposure to Firebase
Basic knowledge of Git and version control.

Nice to Have:

Understanding of Coroutines and Flows
Understanding of MVVM architecture.

Strong debugging and analytical skills.
Enthusiasm to learn and adapt fast.
Creative mindset and attention to detail.
