As Junior Buyer you will be part of the Supply Chain team supporting the procurement of electronic components, mechanical, and related materials.
Typical activities include:
- Support sourcing and pricing of electrical and mechanical items to provide best price, to the right specification and time scales.
- Build good relationships with suppliers to negotiate costs, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Support component availability risks and management plans.
- Interacting with engineering departments for alternative components identification.
- Provides inputs into procurement decisions including make/buy, source selection and supplier qualification.
- Raising of requisitions.
- Raising Purchase Orders and maintaining accurate records
- Manage exceptions and expedite PO deliveries.
- Undertaking supplier ‘due diligence’ and approved vendor listing process.
- Support commodity buying when required

Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent education preferred in a relevant subject
- Purchasing knowledge/experience preferable but not essential - this role may be suitable for a recent Supply Chain/Business Management graduate
- ERP/MRP experience preferable but not essential
- Strong interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills
- Good analytical skills
- Negotiation skills
- Knowledge of electronic and mechanical component procurement desirable
- Good knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft packages
Additional Information
This role has a salary of between £28,350 - £31,500 plus our flexible benefits package.
We are open to this role being spent with time working from home and in the office (hybrid - typically 3 days working in office) on a weekly basis or fully in our offices.
