Junior DevOps Engineer

Our client is a Swiss industry-leading firm, providing a modern state of the art solution for large security companies.
We have a number of different projects developed and maintained by different teams: AWS-native high-load distributed system based on microservices, android and iOS mobile apps, couple of smaller web-applications. We're responsible for the CI-CD pipelines and infrastructure of those projects: automating releases and routine tasks, helping with setting up for new features, making sure everything runs smoothly. We also take care of and maintain several internal services and tools.
With a demand for a growth we are looking for a Junior DevOps engineer with a strong basic knowledge, willing and able to learn fast. You are going to be a part of a tight team, very friendly and supportive, which can help you improve your skills and knowledge of a wide set of Cloud services and related technologies. We value self-dependence and forward thinking.
Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines for a number of projects, mainly with Gitlab-CI and CircleCI
- Add to and improve monitoring and alarms for a high-load microservice system
- Work with different teams to accommodate different infrastructure requirements
- Set up and maintain Linux servers: updates, security hardening, backups etc.
Requirements:
- Comfortable with Linux: shell scripting, foundational OS knowledge
- Understanding distributed system monitoring principles
- Experience programming Javascript/Typescript: writing small programs and navigating medium-size repos. Golang will also be a plus
- Knowledge of AWS: CDK, Fargate, RDS, networking services
- Passion to automate and an eye for potential improvements
