About the role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Specification and Lab Support Specialist to join Science Team, focusing on protein ingredient specifications and routine laboratory analysis. This hybrid role combines technical documentation and data management with hands-on lab work, supporting the development and maintenance of dairy and plant ingredients.

As Junior Specification and Lab Support Specialist you will take hybrid role covering:

Ingredient Specification Management (approx. 70%)

Create, update, and maintain product specifications for protein ingredients in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
Ensure accuracy and compliance of specifications with internal standards, supplier requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, Procurement, Regulatory Affairs and factories to gather and validate specification data.
Support the implementation of specification harmonization, dual supply and continuous improvement initiatives.

Laboratory Support (approx. 30%)

Conduct routine analytical testing on (protein) ingredients and dairy or dairy alternative products (e.g., pH, moisture, fat, protein content, viscosity, emulsification) following standard operating procedures.
Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration and documentation.
Assist in sample preparation, data recording, and reporting of results.
Support product development trials and shelf-life studies.

So what does it take to be successful in this role?  

Bachelor's degree in food science, Dairy Technology, or related field.
Familiarity with PLM systems (e.g., SAP PLM) is required.
Basic laboratory skills and experience with standard analytical techniques (physical and chemical) in food/dairy testing.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
