Junior Support Engineer

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SQL databases, Shell scripting, and UNIX systems.
• Assist in the maintenance and administration of UNIX servers.
• Monitor database performance and make recommendations for improvements.
• Create, edit, and execute Shell scripts to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency.
• Help in resolving database-related issues reported by users and applications.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure smooth operations of IT services and applications.
• Participate in development and implementation of database backup and recovery procedures.
• Document support cases and maintain accurate records of issues and resolutions.
• Contribute to team meetings and share knowledge about best practices in SQL and UNIX administration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in support roles focusing on SQL, Shell scripting, and UNIX administration.
• Basic knowledge of SQL databases and query optimization.
• Familiarity with UNIX/Linux command line and basic administration tasks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Understanding of scripting languages such as Bash or Python is a plus.
