SUMMARY:
The Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Buyer is responsible for the procurement of materials, supplies, tools, and services required to maintain operational efficiency across the organization’s facility and production lines. This role primarily focuses on sourcing items necessary for the upkeep and repair of machinery and infrastructure, as well as securing consumables and other indirect materials that do not directly contribute to finished goods, however, are essential to daily operations.
The primary focus of the MRO Buyer is the Foundry, Finishing and Tooling Commodities. This will allow for the Maintenance Team to have one direct contact instead of dividing the Purchasing Team and will create a clear path.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research, source, and process purchase requests.
- Develop alternative sourcing opportunities that ensure supply, while working to reduce overall costs.
- Assist with Accounts Payable issues related to MRO purchases.
- Work directly with 3rd party integrators.
- MRO Cycle counting.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Two (2) year degree in related field, or equivalent years of applicable experience, preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; sound ability to persuade and influence others.
- Strong attention to detail; excellent organizational and communication skills; and strong written/verbal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with Team Members.
- Good problem-solving skills and embraces a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and always follow all safety rules and procedures.
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office products.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Standing or sitting at a desk for long periods of time; walking throughout the facility as needed.
- Occasionally exposed to elements, such as cold, heat, noise, dust, odors, fumes, etc.
- Work time is spent primarily in an office setting.
