This role is for a Lead Software Engineer who will play a critical part in building and scaling community-driven platforms that enable meaningful interaction, content sharing, and collaboration at scale. You will lead the design and evolution of backend systems that power social engagement features across web and mobile, supporting a large and growing user base in a secure, reliable, multi-tenant environment. Working closely with product, infrastructure, and engineering teams, you will help shape the technical roadmap while ensuring high performance, data privacy, and system resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and scale backend systems that support posts, feeds, notifications, memberships, and moderation workflows
• Design and maintain fault-tolerant, high-availability services using distributed and event-driven architectures
• Solve complex challenges related to real-time updates, asynchronous processing, and multi-tenant access control
• Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability across high-traffic workloads
• Define and evolve APIs, data models, and microservices that support secure and scalable community features
• Collaborate with product, design, and infrastructure teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Guide architectural decisions and contribute to long-term platform strategy
• Uphold best practices in code quality, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and development tooling
• Mentor and support engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical guidance
• Drive a culture of ownership, reliability, and continuous improvement across the engineering team

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 6+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience building high-scale, production-grade systems
• Strong expertise in distributed systems, event-driven design, and asynchronous job processing
• Solid experience with both relational and NoSQL databases, including complex and time-based data models
• Hands-on experience building full-stack applications and working with modern frontend frameworks
• Proven ability to architect and deliver scalable, high-performance web platforms in multi-tenant environments
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, API design, and microservices architecture
• Demonstrated leadership in guiding technical decisions and mentoring engineers
• Experience implementing strong engineering practices around testing, CI/CD, and code quality
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate clearly across cross-functional teams
