Lead Engineer
Job Overview
As the Lead Engineer – Workload Hosting, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering SEEK’s cloud hosting platform that underpins our products and services. You’ll lead a talented engineering team responsible for building, running and evolving highly scalable, reliable and secure infrastructure on Kubernetes and AWS. This role blends technical leadership with people management—driving engineering excellence, platform reliability and a great developer experience across SEEK.
The Role
- Lead and mentor engineers to build and operate SEEK’s Kubernetes-based workload hosting platform.
- Oversee design, delivery and ongoing evolution of secure, reliable and cost-efficient cloud services.
- Collaborate with Product, Architecture and Security teams to align platform capabilities with SEEK’s strategy.
- Drive automation, observability and performance across platform operations.
- Embed best practices in software development, CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Foster a strong team culture focused on collaboration, learning and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
So, what we are looking for:
- Proven experience leading or managing engineering teams in cloud or platform environments.
- Deep technical expertise in Kubernetes, AWS and modern software delivery practices.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, automation and developer enablement.
- Skilled communicator and collaborator, able to influence across technical and non-technical groups.
- Experience applying engineering fundamentals with languages like Go or TypeScript.
- A growth mindset and passion for building reliable, scalable systems that empower developers.
