Linux & Application SRE

The customer is a technology-driven company behind one of the world’s leading social networking apps, built on scalable cloud architecture and powered by real-time systems, advanced data processing, and AI-driven personalization.
Scope:
- Infrastructure-focused SRE role combining Linux operations and 3rd-party system management (Kafka, Redis, etc.). Not responsible for the applications using these systems.
Tasks:
- Manage Linux configurations
- Install, troubleshoot, upgrade systems like Kafka, Redis, etc.
- Support daily operations in data center environments
Tech Stack:
- Linux (primarily RHEL and CentOS, but flexible on distribution)
- Kafka, Redis, Kubernetes
- Monitoring/logging: Mix of home-grown and third-party solutions
- No specific tooling requirements
Skills:
- Basic scripting/automation (e.g., Bash, Python), but in-depth software development experience not needed
- Some familiarity with IaC tools is ideal (e.g., Ansible, Puppet)
- Understanding of infrastructure-level troubleshooting
On-Call:
- Yes, included in a week-long 24x7 support rotation approximately every 4th or 5th week
- Outside of this, non-business hours maintenance windows likely not expected
Seniority:
- Mid to senior level SRE with strong infrastructure background
