Role Summary
The Manager of Strategic Account Management is responsible for leading a team of Strategic Account Managers who support a portfolio of complex, high-value customer accounts. These accounts require elevated relationship management, strong renewal and expansion discipline, and proactive engagement across executive, operational, and technical stakeholders.
This role focuses on team leadership, execution consistency, and risk management to ensure long-term retention, expansion, and customer advocacy across the Strategic portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Strategic Account Managers
Ensure consistent execution of the Strategic Accounts engagement model across assigned customers
Drive retention, expansion, and platform adoption within assigned accounts
Provide guidance on account strategy, opportunity planning, and renewal management
Serve as the primary escalation point for customer, commercial, and operational issues within the team’s portfolio
Partner with the Director of Strategic Accounts on resource planning, prioritization, and performance management
Monitor account health, risk signals, and execution quality to proactively address churn risk
Collaborate cross-functionally with sales leadership, product, finance, and support teams to align outcomes
Qualifications
Required
7+ years of experience in software, cybersecurity, or IT services sales or account management
Prior people management experience leading account managers or sales professionals
Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder customer environments
Strong communication skills and executive presence
Preferred
Experience supporting complex or enterprise customer segments
Background in cybersecurity, cyber-resilience, or risk-focused technology solutions
Familiarity with platform-based selling and long-term customer lifecycle management
Technical fluency sufficient to engage technical buyers and guide business-focused conversations
