Responsibilities
Serve as “hands-on” Manufacturing Engineer on project team dedicated to assembly of lithium ion and lithium metal batteriesDesign and implement tools and processes to manufacture new productsIdentify continuous improvement opportunities and lead changes to improve product qualityIdentify and implement new equipment and processesDevelop process parameters for a variety of manufacturing assembly operations, including heat sealing, laser welding, laser cutting, ultrasonic welding, resistance welding, and battery windingTrain technicians with assembly techniques; some "hands-on" assembly work may be requiredPerform equipment setup and minor equipment repairsTroubleshoot assembly issues and implement corrective actions to minimize recurrenceAssist with product design decisions and changesDevelop comprehensive work instructions and process controlsGenerate and implement work area layouts / participate in 6S initiativesPrepare and present technical presentations to customers as it relates to product line issues
Requirements
B.S. in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology required.2 years minimum experience working in a manufacturing environment.Experience with tool design (SolidWorks preferred), process parameter development, machining equipment operation, and laser welding highly desiredAbility to interact with various departments and good verbal and written communication skills.Creative thinking, self-motivating, problem solving skills, and a desire to remain current with emerging technologies.Solid mechanical aptitude and proficiency in the use of hand tools.
