We are looking for a skilled manufacturing technician to drive engineering builds, and early manufacturing scale-up of complex power electronics assemblies. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, operations and equipment teams to establish repeatable processes, execute and track unit builds, and support product launch development through all phases of the engineering lifecycle. Your technical and timely feedback to the engineering team is pivotal to drive product improvements and advancements with specific attention to safety, quality and reliability. This role is versatile in nature and welcomes innovative, outside-of-the-box thinking to drive excellence in our products.
· Execute and support builds of complex power electronics assemblies through prototype, pilot and production phases
· Lead hands-on troubleshooting, issue identification and documentation during builds, bring-up, and early manufacturing runs to provide feedback to engineering and project management
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including manufacturing, hardware engineering, reliability, test and operations) to develop processes for prototype builds, test, failure mode identification and troubleshooting playbook through various experimental set-ups and systems
· Document learnings and failure modes, analyze data and communicate to cross-functional teams to drive product changes into future builds to track and to execute incremental improvements
· Support the bring-up, validation and troubleshooting of equipment, test systems, fixtures and specialized tooling used in assembly and verification processes
We have a short list of must-have requirements. We prioritize a strong grip on first principles, hands-on skills, and a sense of initiative. Domain-specific knowledge and experience will help determine the career level for each hire.
· Proven track-record of hands-on technical assembly, troubleshooting and diagnostic experience, specifically working hands-on in manufacturing builds, NPI or early production environments with strong attention to detail and quality
· Ability to track, document and manage multiple units through various build and test stages
· Experience in teardown, diagnostic and troubleshooting of complex manufactured assemblies
· Familiarity and experience using hand tools, automated equipment or both for manufacturing of finished assemblies
· Ability to read and interpret design drawings for critical quality and assembly features to translate into execution
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to navigate ambiguity and complete ownership of change management through various product iterations and experiments
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., with frequent standing, walking and bending
· Demonstrated strong power electronics / electrical systems aptitude
· Background in process development or continuous improvement
· Experience with power electronics measurement equipment - oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, hipot
· 3D Printing, CNC, Laser Cutting, Milling/Drilling, CATIA, Solidworks experience a plus
