The Mechanic & Electrical Lead is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical and electrical equipment within the cashew processing facility.
Responsibilities
1. Maintenance & Technical Operations
Maintain and repair all mechanical and electrical equipment in the factory including processing machines, conveyors, boilers, compressors, and electrical systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance according to the maintenance schedule.
Ensure machinery is running safely and efficiently to minimize production downtime.
Supervise installation and commissioning of new machinery.
2. Team Leadership
Lead, supervise, and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team (5 staff).
Assign tasks and monitor performance of technicians.
Train team members on maintenance procedures and safety practices.
Ensure team accountability for maintenance quality and response times
3. Production Support
Work closely with the Production Manager to plan maintenance activities around production schedules.
Respond quickly to machine breakdowns during production.
Provide technical input to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency.
4. Maintenance Planning & Documentation
Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule.
Keep records of maintenance work, spare parts usage, and equipment performance.
Monitor and control maintenance costs and spare parts inventory.
5. Safety & Compliance
Ensure all maintenance work follows factory safety procedures.
Maintain electrical and mechanical systems in compliance with safety regulations.
Support implementation of occupational health and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance and Mechatronics.
Minimum of 5 years experience in industrial maintenance.
Experience in food processing, agriculture processing, or manufacturing preferred.
At least 2 years experience supervising a maintenance team.
