The Mechanical Design Engineer (PHE + Fire Fighting) is responsible for the critical task of designing and reviewing PHE and fire protection systems for building projects. This role demands a high level of expertise and attention to detail.

  • Meticulously design and rigorously review PHE and fire protection systems for building projects, ensuring optimal safety and efficiency.
  • Prepare comprehensive design drawings, precise BOQs, and detailed technical specifications with utmost accuracy.
  • Conduct complex hydraulic and flow calculations to guarantee system performance and reliability.
  • Strictly adhere to and ensure full compliance with NBC, NFPA, and all relevant codes and standards.
  • Effectively coordinate with architecture, structure, and MEP teams to ensure seamless integration of all building systems.

Key Competencies:

  • Advanced expertise in PHE and Fire Fighting Design
  • Proficiency in complex hydraulic calculations and pump sizing
  • In-depth knowledge of NBC, NFPA, and IS Standards
  • Superior coordination skills and technical documentation abilities

Qualifications

Experience Required: A minimum of 10 years of extensive, relevant experience is mandatory, with a strong preference for candidates possessing up to 15 years in the field. This extensive experience requirement is non-negotiable due to the critical nature of the role.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution. The degree must demonstrate a rigorous academic background in mechanical engineering principles, particularly those applicable to PHE and fire fighting systems.

  • Demonstrated mastery of PHE and Fire Fighting Design principles is essential

  • Comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of NBC, NFPA, and IS Standards is crucial
  • Exceptional coordination skills and the ability to produce meticulous technical documentation are imperative

     

Additional Information

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and working knowledge of Revit MEP.

  • Understanding of plumbing and firefighting system design principles.

  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (NBC, IS, and basic knowledge of NFPA).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication and coordination skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
