Mechanical Engineer

Due to continued growth, Alltype Engineering is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to be based at Naval Base, supporting multiple concurrent projects across our operations. This is a hands-on role providing engineering support across the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through to execution and completion.

You will work closely with project managers, construction teams, and clients to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant delivery across all projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support across multiple projects at Naval Base
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and client requirements
• Support project planning, scheduling, and execution activities
• Liaise with fabrication, construction, and commissioning teams
• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, client specifications, and safety requirements
• Prepare and review quality documentation including ITPs, ITRs, MDRs, and engineering deliverables
• Manage technical queries, variations, and engineering risks
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned

Requirements

• Current Australian work rights
• Ability to pass a project-specific pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
• Current Nationally Accredited OHS Card (White/Blue Card)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Demonstrated experience (1 – 5 years) in a Mechanical Engineer role within heavy industrial, Oil & Gas, or Defence-related environments
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, piping, structural interfaces, and rotating equipment
• Experience managing multiple work fronts or projects concurrently
• Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
• High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
