We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Remote Medical Scribe to join the healthcare team. The ideal candidate will accurately document patient encounters in real-time, assisting healthcare providers by managing electronic health records (EHR) and ensuring the highest quality of patient care. This position offers the flexibility to work from home while making a significant impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of medical services.
Job Responsibilities
- Document Patient Encounters: Accurately and efficiently transcribe medical histories, physical examinations, diagnoses, procedures, and treatment plans during patient visits.
- Manage Electronic Health Records (EHR): Update and maintain patient records in the EHR system, ensuring all information is complete and accurately recorded.
- Real-Time Data Entry: Enter patient information into the EHR system in real-time, supporting healthcare providers during consultations.
- Coordinate with Medical Team: Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure seamless patient care and accurate documentation.
- Assist with Chart Reviews: Review and edit patient charts for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory and compliance standards.
- Maintain Confidentiality: Handle patient information with the utmost confidentiality and in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Administrative Support: Perform various administrative tasks as needed to support the healthcare team, including scheduling appointments and managing correspondence.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required. Familiarity with medical terminology and EHR systems is a plus.
- Excellent typing and transcription skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with EHR systems and general computer literacy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Certifications: Certified Medical Scribe Specialist (CMSS) certification is an advantage but not required.
- HIPAA certification is preferred

- A minimum of 8 GB RAM.
- Backup Device:
- Must meet or exceed the performance of an Intel Core i3 processor.
- Must be functional during power interruptions.
- Peripherals and Workspace:
- A functioning webcam.
- A noise-canceling USB headset.
- A quiet, dedicated home office space.
- A smartphone for communication and verification purposes.
