About the Role

Platform Science is looking for a Medior Software Engineer to join our Core Product Development team in Leuven. This role is central to our European expansion, where you will be involved in the design and development of high-impact solutions based on Java and Microservices. You will work on enhancing our software products to better serve the evolving needs of the European transport and logistics market. Reporting to the Software Development Manager, you will be a key player in a global team dedicated to transforming how the world moves.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Full Lifecycle Development: Participate in the complete product development cycle, from analysis and architecture to coding, unit integration, and system testing.

  • Agile Execution: Act as a core member of an agile Scrum team, participating in the planning and execution of work items while maintaining clear communication on progress and obstacles.

  • Feature Integration: Review and collaborate with Product Management and Technical Architects to confirm and track feature requirements through to successful delivery.

  • Sustaining Support: Provide ongoing support for the product, addressing end-to-end feature enhancements and ensuring the platform remains robust and scalable.

  • Collaborative Growth: Proactively assist team members and foster an international environment of knowledge sharing and technical excellence.

Experience

Required Experience

  • 4-6 years of professional software development experience.

  • Strong coding skills in Java with deep knowledge of the J2EE Framework and Spring/Spring Boot.

  • Hands-on experience developing Microservices applications and transforming monolithic architectures.

  • Proficiency with WebServices (SOAP & REST) and strong SQL knowledge.

  • Experience with Git, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Practical experience working with Agile software development methodologies.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AWS technologies (S3, Kinesis, Lambda, EMR, etc.).

  • Familiarity with Angular or ReactJS.

  • Knowledge of messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, MQTT, or Kafka.

  • Experience with deployment tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience with NoSQL technologies (MongoDB, Redis).
