We’re seeking an experienced mental health nurse to join our Telehealth Counselling Service team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for clients seeking mental health support — providing initial assessments, de-escalation where needed, and scheduling counselling appointments. Your ability to assess risk, offer timely referrals, and communicate with empathy will directly impact client outcomes.
This is a casual role, working 2 days per week from 7:00am–3:00pm, with a hybrid setup of 1 day in the Carlton office and 1 day working from home.
Day to day!
- Conduct initial mental health assessments.
- De-escalate clients in distress and provide appropriate referrals.
- Schedule counselling appointments in coordination with our Intake Nurse.
- Maintain clear, professional documentation of all interactions.
- Provide clients with information on available services and how to access them.
- Collaborate with counsellors and management for higher-level care needs.
- Contribute ideas to continuously improve service delivery.

This unique opportunity suits an AHPRA registered Mental Health RN comfortable to assess risk, offer timely referrals, and communicate with empathy will directly impact client outcomes. Further training or experience in crisis intervention or suicide prevention would be highly regarded.
