In the pursuit of our mission, we are hiring a Mental Health Specialist for Everett High School. This individual will work to ensure all Everett students are able to attend a safe, welcoming, and healthy school environment every day. They will work with teachers, administrators, students, and community members to ensure proper access to mental health resources while also providing direct counseling and crisis response when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in School Counseling, Social Work, and/or School Psychology
  • Valid Therapeutic License
  • Five years of youth or family counseling experience
  • Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate in multiple languages
  • Experiences in an urban school setting
  • Sample Job Responsibilities

  • Provide mental health and violence prevention services
  • Assist with teacher professional development and parent training
  • Collaborate with community agencies for multi-layered intervention strategies
  • Conduct individual/group counseling using validated therapeutic models
  • Serve on Behavior Support Teams, contributing to PBIS protocol development
  • Support teachers in classroom management and PBIS plans
  • Facilitate school-wide implementation of PBIS strategies, reducing disciplinary referrals and promoting positive behaviors
  • Other tasks as needed to best support the mission of the Lansing School District
