Microsoft Applications Senior Specialist

West Monroe is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Microsoft Applications Senior Specialist (L3) to join our Shared Services team. This role serves as a technical product owner for Microsoft applications, focusing on administration, product development, and license management. You will play a critical role in managing tickets through ServiceNow, overseeing product roadmaps, and optimizing the use of Microsoft tools like Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and others.

The successful candidate will have specialized knowledge in Microsoft technologies, with a strong understanding of their capabilities and limitations. You will be responsible for technical support, product development, system administration, and vendor management—all while driving innovation to deliver the greatest value to our employee-owned firm.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support

• Monitor, prioritize, and fulfill Tier 2/3 tickets in ServiceNow, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
• Provide technical support for Microsoft applications, ensuring their efficient operation.
• Manage license availability and fulfill software requests from end users.

Product Development

• Build and document processes to improve efficiency for application use, such as provisioning and deprovisioning users.
• Create and maintain technical application documentation, including product roadmaps (internal and vendor-created), technical architecture designs, and process maps.
• Oversee feature upgrades to Microsoft applications and communicate changes to end users.
• Develop and launch custom builds within Microsoft applications, such as custom SharePoint sites, Power Apps, or tools to enhance business functionality.

System Administration

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of Microsoft application capabilities and limitations and clearly communicate these to internal partners.
• Work proactively to remove technical debt and security vulnerabilities while striving to deliver solutions using productivity software products and features without unnecessary customizations.
• Act as a technical product owner for Microsoft applications, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical capabilities.

Vendor Management

• Collaborate with vendors and partners to understand application roadmaps and communicate updates to internal stakeholders and end users.
• Ensure license needs are met from both a contractual and user perspective.
• Work with external vendors to correct software errors and troubleshoot applications; communicate technical requirements effectively with users.

Qualifications

Technical Expertise

• 3+ years of experience administering Microsoft applications.
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft tools (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Power Apps) with demonstrated expertise (e.g., Microsoft certifications).
• Experience managing product roadmaps and licenses for Microsoft applications.
