We are seeking a highly skilled and driven MSP Project Engineer to join our team. As a MSP Project Engineer you will join our team and lead the implementation of client-facing technical projects across the New York City area. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced MSP environment, is comfortable working on-site with clients, and has a deep understanding of multi-tenant support, project execution, and modern IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, deploying, and upgrading systems across a wide range of client environments. Your work as a MSP Project Engineer has several components:
- Function as a hands-on, technical element of client project delivery, including but not limited to:
- Client onboardings and offboardings
- Network installations and migrations
- Windows server-to-server or server-to-cloud migrations
- Office builds and moves
- MDM/MAM + Conditional Access implementation
- Collaborate with project managers and account teams to provide regular updates and create and update documentation.
- Function as an escalation point for resolution of project issues.
- Travel to client sites across NYC and surrounding area for installations, assessments, and hands-on technical work (estimated 50–75%).
- Communicate clearly with clients, acting as a technical expert and trusted advisor.
Our ideal MSP Project Engineer has the following qualifications:
- 3-5+ years IT MSP experience including a minimum of 2+ years of hands-on project engineering experience (mandatory).
- Strong experience implementing IT infrastructure projects from design through completion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, AD, and common MSP toolsets (RMM, PSA).
- Solid understanding of CCNA-level networking
- Ability to work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong aptitude for time and note entry within a PSA.
- Understanding of predictive and hybrid project methodologies, including roles, responsibilities, and work breakdown structure (WBS)
- Located in or near New York City and able to comfortably travel to client sites as required
Preferred requirements:
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, PMI).
- Specific experience with: Microsoft Azure, 365, and SharePoint
- Meraki Networking
- Windows Server
- Modern security principals – MFA, SSO, Conditional Access, MDM, MAM
- ConnectWise PSA
