Multi-skilled Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across site equipment.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and corrective tasks using the CMMS system.
• Support production teams with technical expertise during breakdowns and changeovers.
• Maintain compliance with site standards including PSSR, LOLER, Legionella, and GMP.
• Monitor and manage utilities including boilers, compressors, and effluent systems.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades.
• Liaise with contractors and issue permits to work (PTW) as required.
• Record accurate maintenance data and complete documentation to audit-ready standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement (CI) initiatives and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Support and mentor apprentices and junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Recognised Engineering Qualification (e.g., HNC, BTEC, NVQ Level 3 or above).
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) qualified.
• Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing environments.
• Strong fault-finding skills in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
• Familiarity with compliance systems (e.g., PPMs, risk assessments, water testing).
• Computer literate (CMMS, Microsoft Office).

Additional Information

Salary: up to £47000

Hours: Rotating shifts Monday to Friday,  (Days: 06:00–14:00 / Afternoons: 14:00–22:00) + Alternate Saturdays 4 hours
