Description:
The .NET Web Application Developer will create, maintain and operate web and mobile applications to fulfill client requirements and project needs. The candidate should be familiar with the full range of Legacy and Emerging products within the .NET Stack.
The .Net Developer position requires in-depth knowledge of the full range of Legacy and Emerging products within the Microsoft .NET Stack, including but not limited to .NET 1.1 through .NET 4.6, .NET CORE, Xamarin, MS SQL Server 2000 through MS SQL Server 2016, Azure SQL, Azure App Services and Windows Server 2000 through Windows Server 2016.
Detailed responsibilities include:
- Work collaboratively with a variety of individuals to design and develop custom and COTS software applications.
- Work with project managers, users, and stakeholders in other District and Federal Agencies and others to design user centric web and mobile applications.
- Stays abreast of industry trends related to software development, UI/UX design, and identifies new tools and technologies to leverage for user-centric design
- Expertly documents code using internal comments, system diagrams, flow diagrams, and other external documents
- Provides technical knowledge and support to District agencies, personnel, and additional stakeholders
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience
Responsibilities:
1. Designs, develops, enhances, debugs, and implements software. Troubleshoots production problems related to software applications.
2. Researches, tests, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements. Designs and develops new software products or major enhancements to existing software.
3. Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
4. Consults with project teams and end users to identify application requirements.
5. Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management.
6. Assists in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools.
7. Resolves problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
8. Acts as team leader on projects.
9. Instructs, assigns, directs, and checks the work of other software developers on development team.
10. Participates in development of software user manuals.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience
Skills Required:
- Experience troubleshooting production problems related to software applications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
- JavaScript | HTML5 | CSS | XML
- Experience with SQL databases | .Net
- Experience deploying .net applications to an Azure Environment
- Demonstrated experience using front-end web development frameworks such as jQuery and AngularJS
- Ability to test and create code that works cross-browser, cross-platform and cross-device
- Experience with responsive design concepts and tools (e.g. Bootstrap)
- Possess advanced knowledge in building and documenting structured code utilizing the mandatory technologies above
- Advanced knowledge of web application development – processes, techniques, concepts, theory and practices
- Extremely adept in building functional Web UI Interface(s)
- Ability to multi-task and communicate project milestones and status, executing projects from concept to completion in the following areas: Web UI, Web
- Ability to work well with internal and external teams, collaborate and work well in both unstructured and structured environments
- Experience working in a large organization and familiar with concepts such as enterprise technology standards and change management practices
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology within the service delivery life cycle
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences at multiple lev
- Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on producing a professional standard of output
- Demonstrated experience working with third-party technologies and proprietary development languages
