Network Engineers with 1 to 7 years experience to work within engineering teams to serve our growing client base. The Network Engineer has primary responsibility for Network Operating Center (NOC) administration, LAN/WAN project implementation and long-term client support, including heavy interaction with end-users in diverse computing environments.
Network Engineers are challenged on a daily basis working in an energetic, fast moving, collaborative, demanding & results-oriented work environment.
Qualifications
Minimum Technical Prerequisites for Network Engineers
NOS Server
Required: Windows 2003
Also applicable: Windows NT, Linux, UNIX, Macintosh, Novell
- Installation, configuration and troubleshooting
- Configure file, print and remote access services
- Basic administration, including add/remove users and groups, configure file permissions, check event logs, configure and restore from backup
Enterprise E-mail
Required: Exchange 2003 and 2007
Also applicable: Lotus Notes, Groupwise, SendMail
- Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of clients, including remote clients
- Basic administration of enterprise e-mail application, including add/remove users and group, configure folder permissions if applicable, forward mail to other accounts, and add aliases
Workstation
Required: Windows 95/98/00/XP/Vista
- Troubleshooting and configuration
- Configuration of standard POP, SMTP & Exchange clients including Outlook and Outlook Express.
- Installation, configuration, troubleshooting and customization of MS Office Suite applications per customer's preferences
- Solid understanding of and ability to install, configure and test workstation hardware including video cards, modems, NICs, sound cards, hard drives, and Palm Pilots.
Other Preferred Technical Knowledge
- Experience with remote monitoring and management solutions and technologies
- Solid understanding of and ability to configure TCP/IP and troubleshooting Internet connectivity
- Experience with and understanding of routers and firewalls
- Experience and understanding of Terminal Services & Citrix
- Understanding of relationship between switches, hubs, patch panels and connecting nodes to a network
- Understanding of DNS services
