Church of the City New York is seeking a highly organized and ministry-minded coordinator to support the vision and operations of our City Kids ministry. This role advances our mission “to see lost New Yorkers far from God transformed into compelling missional disciples” by ensuring excellence in the systems, logistics, and volunteer care that shape our next generation environments.
The Next Gen Coordinator provides essential administrative and ministry support for weekly City Kids gatherings and special events, helping the ministry run smoothly and effectively. They will also lead and maintain safety, curriculum, and culture at the Upper West Side location under the leadership of the City Kids Pastor.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about helping children and families encounter the love of God. They will bring strong organizational skills, a collaborative spirit, and a heart for building healthy teams and environments where kids can grow in their faith.
Role Summary
Provide essential administrative and ministry support to ensure the smooth and effective operation of Church of the City New York's City Kids ministry. This role strengthens systems, supports volunteers, and oversees Sunday and event execution so the City Kids Pastor can focus on vision, discipleship, and family engagement.
- Provide administrative oversight by managing volunteer schedules, attendance records, and ministry calendars
- Process background checks, onboarding documentation, and maintain filing systems
- Oversee Sunday morning operations in City Kids, addressing logistical details to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for children and volunteers
- Coordinate logistics and support for special events such as Vacation Bible School, holiday programs, and other seasonal initiatives
- Take ownership of one ministry hub as City Kids expands to multiple locations, ensuring consistency in culture, safety, and excellence
- Support College.NYC as it grows, ensuring staff presence and logistical coordination for youth and college gatherings
- Adhere to and embody the qualities and characteristics required of Church of the City New York Staff Members, as defined by the Staff Handbook
Requirements
- A committed Christian in submission to the authority of Scripture and the Holy Spirit, as evident in lifestyle; subscribes to and is in full agreement with Church of the City’s Statement of Faith
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively in a fast-paced ministry environment
- Excellent relational skills with a heart for serving volunteers, kids, students, and families
- Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Church of the City New York
- Previous experience in children’s or Next Gen ministry preferred
- Flexible, proactive, and committed to excellence in all aspects of ministry execution
