Responsibilities and Tasks:
• Prepare complete bankruptcy petitions with emphasis on Chapter 13, including capturing assets, liabilities, income, household composition, and supporting schedules/statements.
• Conduct means test calculations to assess eligibility prior to filing; work only on cases pre-screened for viability and strict ethical standards.
• Collaborate with the intake team (who collect documents) and the attorney to assemble accurate petitions; no routine document chasing required.
• Perform rigorous quality control to ensure precision in names, addresses, figures, and disclosures aligned with trustee expectations.
• Draft and update petitions using Jubilee bankruptcy software and manage files securely via Dropbox; work effectively in a remote environment.
• Participate in brief daily huddles and uphold client-first empathy as "the solver" during stressful client journeys.
• Coordinate original signatures as required by the court to meet time-sensitive case demands.

Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years of solid, hands-on U.S. bankruptcy paralegal experience preparing petitions, preferably Chapter 13; 5+ years preferred.
• Proficient with bankruptcy software; experience with Jubilee or ability to learn it quickly is a plus.
• Native-level or highly fluent English; Spanish is a plus.
• Demonstrated commitment to ethics, confidentiality, and accuracy.

Hard Skills:
• U.S. bankruptcy petition preparation (Chapters 7 & 13), including schedules and statements.
• Remote document management using Dropbox.
• Clear written and verbal communication in English.

Soft Skills:
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy; goal-oriented work ethic.
• Empathy and client care in high-stress, time-sensitive situations.
