Pay Rate: $18.35/hour (training) → $19.67/hour (after completion)

Overview

As a Part-Time Security Guard, you will play a key role in maintaining the safety and security of our client’s property in Dawn Euphemia, Ontario. This position involves patrolling the site on foot and by vehicle, monitoring CCTV, managing access control, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed. You’ll respond to emergencies, investigate incidents, and provide excellent customer service to all visitors and staff.

Security personnel at this location are designated first responders for emergencies, requiring calm, professionalism, and readiness at all times.

Responsibilities

• Patrol premises on foot and by vehicle to maintain site security.
• Perform regular security checks of buildings, parking areas, and access points.
• Control access and ensure only authorized individuals enter the property.
• Monitor CCTV and other security equipment to detect and deter unauthorized activities.
• Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies.
• Document incidents, irregularities, and safety hazards in detailed reports.
• Support employees, visitors, and vendors with professionalism and courtesy.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services when required.
• Provide safety orientations and administer safety course exams for personnel.
• Maintain and ensure functionality of all safety and communication equipment.
• Use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and proprietary access control/CCTV software.

Requirements

• Valid Ontario Security License
• Valid CPR and First Aid Level C from a certified WSIB provider
• Full G Driver’s License
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Fluent in English (oral and written)
• Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to prepare accurate reports and handle emergency situations calmly

Nice to Have

• Diploma or enrollment in Police Foundations or a related program
• 2+ years of experience in security, law enforcement, or related fields
