General Summary:

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll, providing timely and accurate financial information, and participating in the daily data entry of payroll processing. This role works in partnership with the payroll team to contribute to a rapidly growing organization.

 

Job Description

  • Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing for India employees with minimal supervision
  • Handle payroll for 1300 + employees across multiple locations
  • Validate payroll inputs including attendance, leave, overtime, bonuses, reimbursements, and deductions
  • Ensure full compliance with Indian statutory requirements (PF, ESI, PT, Income Tax / TDS)
  • Prepare, review, and submit statutory filings, challans, and returns within deadlines
  • Manage income tax declarations, proof verification, tax calculations, and Form 16 issuance
  • Address and resolve employee payroll and tax-related queries professionally and timely
  • Coordinate with HR, Finance, and external payroll vendors for accurate payroll execution
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and variance analysis with finance records
  • Support internal and external payroll audits and statutory inspections
  • Process full & final settlements, gratuity, leave encashment, and exit payroll
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data in HRMS/payroll systems
  • Identify opportunities for payroll process improvements and automation
  • Stay updated on changes in labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll compliance

Educational / Previous Experience Recommendations:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
