Responsibilities
To focus on the day-to-day activities that support the People department’s functioning and engagement of the local workforce. This includes managing payroll, ensuring compliance with Hong Kong labour laws, maintaining accurate updates of employee data in the HRIS, and overseeing the onboarding and offboarding processes. The incumbent is also expected to lead and actively support the People department team in employee engagement and development initiatives for the Hong Kong office.
This role is based in Hong Kong and reports to the Head of People (Asia).
Key responsibilities include:
- HR administration and operations: Tasks include payroll management, vendor liaison, employee data entry, and maintenance in the human resources information system. Track and maintain all HR-related data, such as employee contracts, non-disclosure agreements, compensation, employees’ personal data, and more.
- Compliance: Ensure alignment and compliance with Hong Kong-specific labour laws for hiring, workplace rules, and employee treatment. Maintain and communicate HR compliance policies that need to be followed internally.
- Employee experience and relations: Responsibilities include managing the employee lifecycle process, from onboarding to offboarding, and resolving and deescalating employee issues. create a more connected employee experience for staff. Supports the People team in driving and implementing employee engagement and development initiatives. Act as local contact point and advisor to managers and employees on HR-related issues, working in collaboration with HR business partners.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of relevant working experience in HR operations and administration
- Possesses strong knowledge in employee relations and labour for Hong Kong
- Strong problem solving and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organised, proactive, and efficient approach to work with a can-do attitude.
- Proven vendor management skills
- Passion for creating a more connected employee experience through engagement and development initiatives
