Hello! We're Teya.
Teya is a payment and software service provider, headquartered in London serving small, local businesses across Europe. Founded in 2019, we build easy to use, integrated tools that enable our members to accept payments and boost business performance.
At Teya we believe small, local businesses are the lifeblood of our communities.
We’re here because we don’t believe there’s a level playing field that gives small businesses with a fighting chance against the giants of the high street.
We’re here because we see banks and legacy service providers making things harder for them. We don’t think the best technology or the best service should be reserved for those with the biggest headquarters.
We’re here to fight for a future where small, local businesses can thrive, and to commit the same dedication they offer all of us.
Become a part of our story.
We’re looking for exceptional talent to join our mission. We offer a chance to create impact in a high-energy and connected culture, while benefiting from continuous learning opportunities, a supportive community which is proud to serve our mission, and comprehensive benefits.
Your Mission
Teya is scaling rapidly across Europe, and Croatia is a strategically important market within that growth. We’re building a high-performing, execution-focused organisation, and we’re looking for a People Partner for Croatia to help shape how the business performs, scales, and leads.
This role partners closely with the Country Manager for Croatia and the local leadership team to align people strategy with commercial priorities. You’ll work hands-on across organisational design, leadership capability, performance, and engagement, ensuring the Croatia organisation is set up to deliver results today while scaling sustainably for the future. You’ll report into the Global Head of People Partnering, and join a high performing people partnering team.
You’ll operate at the intersection of strategy and delivery, equally comfortable coaching leaders, shaping structure and headcount plans, and rolling up your sleeves to support day-to-day people matters. The impact of this role will be visible in leadership effectiveness, execution quality, and the strength of the local culture.
Responsibilities:
Act as a trusted thought partner to the Country Manager for Croatia and local leadership team, aligning people plans with business objectives, growth targets, and operational realities.
Provide guidance on organisational effectiveness, team structure, workforce planning, and role clarity as the business scales.
Coach and support leaders to strengthen managerial capability, decision-making, feedback quality, and performance accountability.
Use people data and insights to inform leadership decisions and anticipate future capability and talent needs.
Lead the execution of core people cycles in Croatia including performance management, compensation, engagement, and talent reviews, ensuring clarity, fairness, and consistency, in partnership with global CoE teams.
Support the build-out of Teya’s People Machine locally, ensuring strong foundations across hiring, onboarding, development, and retention.
Partner closely with Talent Acquisition to support high-quality, timely hiring aligned to commercial demand.
Drive initiatives that reinforce Teya’s culture, values, and ways of working within a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
Navigate employee relations, change, and complex people situations with sound judgement, discretion, and a focus on outcomes.
Act as the local People point of contact for Croatia, while contributing to broader People Partnering initiatives across the region.
Requirements:
You’re an experienced People Partner who has supported commercial, operational, or GTM teams in a fast-growing environment (FinTech, SaaS, or similarly dynamic sectors preferred).
You understand how growth plays out on the ground — headcount planning, productivity, targets, incentives, execution — and how people decisions directly influence business outcomes.
You build credibility quickly with leaders through sound judgement, pragmatism, and a calm, data-informed approach.
You’re comfortable operating close to the business, balancing strategic input with hands-on delivery in a country environment.
You’re decisive, practical, and clear in your communication. You value progress and clarity over over-engineering or consensus-seeking.
You believe strong culture is built through clear expectations, consistent leadership, and fair decision-making — not slogans.
You bring resilience, maturity, and discretion, and know when to challenge, when to advise, and when to simply get things done.
You’re curious, commercially minded, and motivated by building environments where people and performance thrive.
Teya is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or background can thrive and do their best work. We believe that a diverse team leads to better ideas, stronger outcomes, and a more supportive workplace for all.
If you require any reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process whether for interviews, assessments, or other parts of the application—we encourage you to let us know. We are committed to ensuring that every candidate has a fair and accessible experience with us.
