Performance Test Engineer
- Design, implement, and execute performance test plans, including load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests
- Develop and maintain performance test scripts and other tools as required (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, NeoLoad)
- Translate business requirements and user journeys into realistic performance test scenarios
- Prepare, manage, and maintain test data to support performance testing
- Monitor test execution, collect performance metrics, and analyze results to identify bottlenecks or performance issues
- Provide clear, actionable recommendations to improve application performance and stability
- Support in analysing test results and provide actionable recommendations
- Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to define performance baselines, validate performance targets, and reduce production performance risks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of performance testing processes, frameworks, and best practices
Qualifications
General requirements:
- At least intermediate English communication (working with international clients)
- 2+ years of experience in software testing / quality engineering, including hands-on exposure to performance testing
- Able to self-learn and adapt quickly to new technologies
- Familiarity with the Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality
- Positive, collaborative attitude with good communication skills
Technical requirements:
- Good understanding of performance testing concepts, including load, stress, endurance/soak, baseline, and scalability testing
- Hands-on experience with at least one mainstream performance testing tool such as JMeter, NeoLoad, LoadRunner, or equivalent.
- Experience in scripting and parameterization for web/API performance testing using REST, JSON, XML, RegEx, Groovy, JavaScript, Beanshell, or similar technologies
- Familiarity with API and web service testing using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools
- Experience using monitoring / observability tools such as Grafana, Splunk, AppDynamics, ELK, Dynatrace, or similar platforms
- Good understanding of key performance indicators, including response time, throughput, latency, concurrency, CPU, memory, and network usage
- Experience in identifying performance bottlenecks across infrastructure, application, and database layers
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot performance issues across application, database, and infrastructure layers
Nice to have:
- Experience with cloud-based or distributed systems / microservices environments.
- Basic knowledge of database performance analysis, SQL queries, or log analysis.
- Experience integrating performance testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to Linux/Unix environments, container platforms, or cloud monitoring tools.
- Experience in performance tuning, capacity planning, or production performance diagnostics.
