Hybrid vs. Remote Approach:
We believe the magic of Miter comes from working side by side. We also believe in work flexibility. For roles that are listed as hybrid, our approach is 3 days a week in the office giving us the chance to connect, brainstorm, and build stronger relationships. If you live within a reasonable commute to either our New York City or San Francisco offices, we ask that you work in our hybrid approach.
Otherwise, for roles listed as remote or in other cities where we don't have an office location, there is no requirement to work in our hybrid approach. We do travel a few times a year for onboarding, company wide, and team specific offsites!
About the Team & How We Work:
Miter’s Solutions Engineering team partners with Account Executives throughout the sales cycle to uncover complex customer needs, design tailored solutions, and guide prospects through technical validation. We’re deeply embedded in the deal process, from discovery to demo to proof-of-concept, making sure prospects see exactly how Miter can solve their toughest challenges.
This role will be our first dedicated Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer, and a key opportunity to help build the foundation of our SE function. You’ll play a meaningful role in shaping how Solutions Engineering operates at Miter, from defining best practices and creating repeatable processes to establishing how SEs partner with Sales, Product, and Launch as we scale.
We’re a small, high-impact team that moves fast, collaborates closely, and thrives in a space where every customer has unique workflows and technical puzzles to solve. Our approach is agile, our communication is constant, and we’re never afraid to roll up our sleeves to get a deal over the line.
What You’ll Do:
Partner with AEs to run deep technical discovery with complex prospects
Configure demo environments that reflect prospect-specific workflows and integrations
Act as the technical expert during sales cycles, answering detailed questions about integrations, APIs, data flows, and product capabilities
Collaborate with Product and Engineering to scope custom solutions, surface gaps, and influence roadmap decisions
Help design and document the Pre-Sales SE playbook, including discovery best practices, demo standards, and handoff processes to our Launch team

Refine how Solutions Engineering partners with Sales, including when SEs engage, how responsibilities are shared, and how we scale support as the team grows
What You’ll Need:
2+ years in a customer-facing technical role such as solutions engineering, sales engineering, or implementation
Experience supporting mid-market or enterprise clients through technical discovery and validation
Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, and configuring custom demo environments
Ability to troubleshoot complex workflows and interpret technical documentation
Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences
Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-focused mindset
