The role
We’re looking for a Principal DevOps Engineer to define and drive our strategy for system and product reliability, built on strong engineering practices, cloud‑native principles, and clear architectural defaults across MYOB.
You’ll lead and mentor the team as they refine and progress toward a shared technical vision while delivering great internal experiences. Working across engineering, architecture, security, and product, you’ll influence how this vision is understood, adopted, and evolved. You’ll help break complex problems into smaller initiatives that deliver incremental customer value, and you’ll champion our “you build it, you run it” DevOps culture by embedding reliability, observability, and security throughout the full software delivery lifecycle.
What you'll bring
- Technical leadership that raises the standard for engineering excellence through influence, mentorship, and decisive technical direction.
- Substantial experience with building and maintaining Azure cloud-based solutions utilising known good practice for scalability, resilience and recovery; experience migrating or modernising platforms is highly valued.
- Communication of ideas, processes, concepts and practices clearly to diverse groups.
- A growth mentality and the dedication to continuously improve personal and team processes, practices and performance.
- Pragmatism to balance short-term delivery needs with longer-term strategic direction and objectives, using fast feedback and evolutionary design to maintain efficient delivery.
- An understanding of current engineering techniques such as DevSecOps, continuous deployment and progressive delivery on Azure cloud-native solutions.
