Principal Electrical Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership and oversight for complex building services projects across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The role involves leading electrical design delivery, authority coordination, mentoring engineering teams, and supporting successful project outcomes from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical building services design on large and complex projects across UAE & KSA

• Deliver and review designs for HV/LV systems, substations, generators, UPS, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, and ELV interfaces

• Ensure compliance with local authority and utility requirements including DEWA, ADDC, TAQA, SEC, and relevant international standards (IEC, BS, NFPA, SBC)

• Oversee electrical deliverables across all project stages (Concept, SD, DD, IFC)

• Coordinate with architects, mechanical, structural, BIM, and external stakeholders

• Support authority submissions, technical workshops, and design reviews

• Implement QA/QC processes to ensure right-first-time delivery

• Mentor and guide Senior and Intermediate Electrical Engineers

• Support project managers with technical input, programme coordination, and resource planning

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)

• 12+ years of experience in electrical building services design

• Strong experience delivering projects in UAE and Saudi Arabia

• In-depth knowledge of local authority regulations and approval processes

• Strong leadership, coordination, and client-facing skills

• Proficiency in electrical design tools (Trimble, Dialux/Relux), MS office, Navisworks

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).

• 12+ years of experience in electrical building services design.

• Strong Middle East project experience preferred.
