Your Career

As a Principal Product Intelligence analyst for Cloud Security, you will be the expert on the competitive and market landscape. You will be responsible for generating deep, actionable insights that shape our product strategy and roadmap. Your work will be critical in ensuring Palo Alto Networks maintains its leadership position by anticipating market shifts and understanding the competitive environment to protect our digital way of life.

Your Impact

  • Lead in-depth competitive analysis and market research for the cloud security portfolio, identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

  • Proactively collaborate with product management, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure alignment and inform product strategy with actionable intelligence.

  • Develop and present data-driven strategic recommendations to senior leadership, challenging the status quo with insightful analysis and a clear vision for the future.

  • Define, monitor, and report on key market and competitive metrics to track our position and the effectiveness of our product strategies.

  • Create and maintain a centralized repository of intelligence, simplifying complex information into digestible formats for various stakeholders.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the cloud security landscape, providing guidance and applied learning opportunities for internal teams.

  • Analyze customer feedback and usage data to identify unmet needs and opportunities for disruptive innovation.

  • Author white papers, blogs, and other materials to establish thought leadership and communicate our unique value proposition.

Qualifications

Your Experience 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent military experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, competitive intelligence, or product marketing within the enterprise technology sector.

  • Deep domain expertise in cloud security technologies (e.g., CSPM, CWPP, CNAPP) and the public cloud ecosystem (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Master's degree or MBA.

  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

  • Public speaking experience at industry conferences or events.

  • Previous experience in a strategic, principal-level role with a proven track record of influencing product direction.

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information from various sources into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations.

  • Proven experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis, with a strong focus on the details that drive accurate conclusions.

Product Management or PDM - To stay ahead of the curve, it’s critical to know where the curve is and how to anticipate the changes we’re facing. For the fastest-growing cybersecurity company, the curve is the evolution of cyberattacks and the products and services that proactively address them. Our Product Management team helps us do just that. This team provides the behind-the-scenes support for our products by being a source of information for our Systems Engineers, staying on top of the environment we sell in and helping to implement technical solutions based on our clients' feedback and needs. As threats and technology evolve, we stay ahead to accomplish our mission.

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $159000/YR - $255000/YR.
