This role is a key contributor to the Project Operations team, ensuring efficient and accurate project setup, financial compliance, and process execution across multiple initiatives. The Principal Project Operations Analyst will work closely with project managers, accounting, sales operations, and delivery teams to support project delivery, billing, and reporting. This position requires a detail-oriented, self-starting professional capable of managing concurrent tasks with minimal supervision. The analyst will also play a critical role in mentoring junior staff, improving operational processes, and serving as a liaison across departments. With a mix of remote work and cross-functional collaboration, the position offers the opportunity to influence project operations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage the complete project setup process, including contract review, resource assignment, billing schedules, and ERP integration
  • Perform audits and ensure compliance with project financial obligations, including time, expense, and milestone billing
  • Coordinate with accounting and project management teams to support month-end close, reporting, and reconciliations
  • Serve as a liaison to accounting, delivery leadership, sales, compliance, and procurement teams
  • Execute and oversee project change orders, training PMs on processes, and mentoring junior Project Operations staff
  • Support special projects, system administration, process improvements, and compliance initiatives
  • Prepare and maintain reports, documentation, and communications to ensure project operational excellence
  • Requirements:
  • 5–7 years of experience in project operations, professional services, or project accounting
  • Strong knowledge of PSA systems, project setup, and financial processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Visio), Microsoft Project, and collaboration tools; experience with NetSuite OpenAir, CRM, and SharePoint is a plus
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented, self-directed, reliable, and adaptable to changing technology and processes
  • College degree or equivalent work experience
