The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced compliance and certification specialist to join our development team to make our mobile robotic solutions market compliant on a global scale. You will be working closely with our engineering teams to identify risks and design solutions for product-level EMC and safety compliance; this includes design, documentation and marking requirements to satisfy the dependencies for regulatory and commercial conformance.
Your contributions
Lead electrical, machinery, and functional safety topics and advise engineering teams on compliant system designDevelop and maintain product certification for existing and new products, perform risk assessments and implement safety concepts/functionsDrive Design for Compliance (DfC) and define design requirements for electrical and mechanical engineers, with early-stage guidance on creepage & clearance, thermal management, material flammability, reliability (FIT), redundancy (HFT), and diagnostic coverage (DC)Define safety concepts and control architectures; determine required PLr and SIL targets from risk assessmentsReview electrical designs for compliance with IEC 60204-1 and IEC 62368-1Facilitate and document hazard analyses and risk assessments in accordance with ISO 12100Perform and verify reliability calculations (MTTFd, DCavg) to demonstrate compliance with ISO 13849-1 and IEC 62061Mentor engineers and deliver internal training on electrical, machinery, and functional safetyResearch the regulatory environment and assess influence on product compliance
Your profile
University degree in engineering or science (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or doctorate)Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the certification process of electrical and mechanical productsStrong experience in machinery, electrical, and functional safetyAbility to translate regulatory requirements into practical engineering solutionsConfident communicator with a pragmatic, hands-on mindsetKnowledge of International and European standards, regulations, codes and directives as well as solid working knowledge of ISO and IEC standard organisational pratice
Bonus points:
Working knowledge of various country approvals, regulatory marks and homologation processes Experience in certification of explosion-proof equipment (IECEx/ATEX)Experience with safety-relevant software such as SISTEMA or PascalExperience in approvals for North America for UL and NFPA with standards such as NFPA 79 and UL 508A
