The "Production Engineer" plays a crucial role as the second-line troubleshooter, with the shift supervisor taking the lead as the first line. This position is pivotal in swiftly addressing operational challenges within a plant unit, offering immediate technical assistance to the operations teams. The engineer is tasked with uncovering the root causes of process deviations and executing corrective actions to ensure peak production efficiency. Additionally, this role manages plant recipes during regular operations and during plant start-ups/shut-downs. As a champion of continuous improvement, the Production Engineer is responsible for tracking the value of operational enhancements.
Moreover, the engineer provides functional leadership to the instructor and in doing so takes ownership of the technical competence development of the operator pool. In the absence of the production manager, the Production Engineer takes charge of managing and supervising the day-to-day operations in the plant in accordance with the Manex work process "Operate Plant Normal" (fulfilling the roles of Production Owner and Gatekeeper).
This role also involves participating in on-call duties to ensure continuous support for our 24/7 production facilities.

- Swiftly address process disruptions and unusual operating conditions.
- Analyze process parameters and operational data to uncover root causes of deviations.
- Quickly implement corrective actions to re-establish normal operating conditions.
- Team up with operators, maintenance staff, and process engineers to tackle technical issues.
- Keep a close watch on key process indicators to spot potential problems before they affect production.
- Document troubleshooting efforts, solutions provided, and valuable lessons learned.
- Offer technical guidance to operations personnel during start-ups, shutdowns, transitions, specialty runs, and test runs.
- Aid in process optimization initiatives by gathering and analyzing performance data.
- Suggest and execute procedural changes to avert recurring issues.
- Uphold safety protocols and environmental regulations throughout problem resolution.
- Engage in incident investigations and actively contribute to corrective action plans.
- Support modifications related to products and processes to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Foster a proactive SHE attitude internally and externally, ensuring compliance with regulations while taking a proactive stance against unsafe situations. Take the initiative to identify and implement improvement actions.
- Assist in enhancing plant work processes by participating in RCA, reviewing scopes, exploring alternatives, solving problems, and implementing solutions.
- In the production manager's absence, oversee and supervise daily plant operations, following the Manex work process “Operate Plant Normal” (roles: Production Owner and Gatekeeper).
- Be responsible for managing continuous improvement initiatives, including tracking progress, coordinating with stakeholders, and systematically documenting initiatives and their quantifiable benefits in the approved value-tracking software.
- Provides functional leadership to the instructor while driving hands-on development and standardization of technological competencies within the operator pool.
- Responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring the annual production budget in alignment with operational and business objectives.
