As a Project Accountant at DN you will manage the the day-to-day accounting of construction projects. Working collaboratively with our Operations team, you will own all accounting functions as it pertains to our construction projects. A successful individual in this role will be someone who develops strong relationships, both internally and externally, completes work thoroughly and timely, and upholds budgetary financials.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, post and track the monthly requisitions to the ownerParticipate in project forecast updates – CTC/WIP – with Project Managers/Project EngineersMonitor/track any over/under billings and work with Project Manager and/or Project EngineerMonitor for any potential high-risk projects and work with project management for plan/resolutionIdentify potential job exposures and write-offsProcure to Pay – be responsible for processing subcontractor requisitionsEnsure the subcontractor is complying with terms and conditions of the contract (i.e. insurance, lien releases, waivers, billing procedures, CPR, etc.),Monitor and track the cash position of the projectsReconciliation with Project Managers/Project Engineers for project closeoutResponsible for the understanding of owner contracts and subcontracts regarding payment terms and required documentsWork closely with the Project Managers, Project Engineers and Superintendents on all facets of project accounting and administration.Manage cash collection for the project in conjunction with the Project Manager as well as prepare Cash Forecasts.Participate in owner, subcontractor and project meetings as required
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting 4+ years relevant experience in Accounting or Finance related positionRelationship drivenExcellent communication skillsDetail-orientedExperience with Microsoft ExcelExperience with Viewpoint Spectrum or Construction ERP systems
