This position is responsible for coordination of engineering activities related to assigned projects. These projects include new construction and renovations of Data Center opportunities. This role is based out the Sterling, VA office. Due to government contracts and clearance requirements, U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
Essential Functions: An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Support the Project Owners to complete assigned engineering activities on or before the scheduled completion date by coordinating with operations team.
- On assigned projects, perform engineering tasks such as design development and AutoCAD drafting.
- Understanding of scope of work, ability to read and interpret project specifications, plans and contracts.
- Proactively communicate technical issues to project managers and/or more senior level technicians as well as contractors and subcontractors.
- Gather all technical information to develop drawings and other documents for submission.
- Work with the BAS engineers to develop control system drawings, equipment schedules, submittals, floor plans, system database, custom programs and graphics.
- Maintain company tools, test equipment, material and company vehicle(s).
- Mentors and sets a good example for lower-level team members.
- Take part in solutions-based discussions with owners and project stakeholders both inside and outside the company.
- Attends and contributes to project meetings, as necessary.
- Assist with project turnover to the service department.
- Support a performance-based culture, both team and individual, to assure continuous improvement and alignment with enterprise vision, mission, and objectives.
Requirements
Knowledge & Skills required:
- Equivalent experience of 10 years or more in addition to vocational school, or a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer technology or similar field with 5+ years of experience preferred.
- Have a high understanding of HVAC , mechanical, and Building Automation Systems. Automated Logic is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation including sequence of operation, technical product literature, programming manuals and specifications
- Experience dealing with a diverse and large number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of multiple disciplines while maintaining control.
- Must have the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills; high quality document and report preparation.
- Must understand Microsoft suite of products including Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Project, Visio and AutoCAD.
Pay Rate: $43-$53/hr. DOE.
