This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Project Engineer (Facilities/Infrastructure). In this role, you will provide essential technical support for federal facilities projects, ensuring the management of infrastructure portfolios that contribute to national security. Your expertise will be vital in delivering innovative solutions that aid the Department of Homeland Security, facilitating both safety and the efficiency of trade and travel. You will collaborate with various stakeholders and engage in ensuring compliance with design standards and regulations. This position calls for a proactive approach to problem-solving and project management in a dynamic environment.

Accountabilities

  • Support a federal agency’s technical division as a subject matter expert for its real property portfolio.
  • Deliver engineering solutions for DHS projects, involving new construction and maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership and project managers about project requirements.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of design documents and engineering studies.
  • Monitor project progress and propose corrective actions as needed.
  • Travel nationwide to inspect project sites and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Provide engineering inputs for cost estimates and value engineering analysis.
  • Assist in facility development throughout all phases including planning and design.
  • Guide compliance with building codes and relevant standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers.
  • Oversee engineering project implementation as required.
  • Engage with service providers and contractors for project service delivery.
  • Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with federal budget cycles and procurement practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with various stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving capabilities.
  • Available for approximately 10% travel.
  • Able to pass a government background investigation; U.S. citizenship required.
